on the express to being like everyone else

intellectually!
i feel behind. haha. its not even a feeling.
i am behind.

i gave myself a hoilday. cos the initial plan was for me to go to kl and then melacca with my momma and dada. we didnt go cos the car broke down, yet again. how many times would i have to witness, more like sit in the car. for me to get a hint.
and that hint is to take the bus!! or mrt. you cant expect to be chauferred your whole life. at least until im 18. i cant wait to drive!
while we were on the way to the woods area.
take a line, pick a number and wait for your turn.
boy, was i not excited to spend two weeks like that, in that situation.
ugh. i need tution! anyone out there? willing to sponser a kids bio practical fees?
haha. need to pester my mum to sign me up for smart lab. so i can be a smatter more smarter.

"commit to the Lord, the plans of your heart!"
and they won't fail. the Lords plans have never failed.
im not ashamed to admit to the world that im a CHRISTIAN. haha. im free.
its a relationship, not a religion.

i once was blind but now i see

moive recommendation!
if u feel the need to be inspired or u just like to watch movies. i highly recommend
drum roll please. this movie was released only in dvd.
what's the title.
ok...
its amazing grace.
yeah. not the song, nope. somewhere along the lines.
haha. its a movie based on a few centuries back.
so do expect, some real good, rich and strong, slightly phlegmy english accents.
hehe..i dont mean to make fun.

the thing is, purchase the dvd. and u will follow along just nice.
with the english subtiltles.

so....
the content?
in a nut shell, is abt slavery.
politics
law
moral values
dont turn up your nose.
cos slavery is still happening in the 21st century. but just in different forms.
slave to your master. if u think abt how a slaves depend on their master.
and how it needs its master for income, and shelter and just the bare necessecties
how about a 21st century teen? how can it apply?

slave to your laptop there are quite a handful of ppl really dependent on their electronic consoles, materialistic things and even, their maids..(helpers,people who clean up after a family)
i for one love to go online. and only think abt the stuff going on in my life and family's.
theres nothing wrong with being human.. doing things for yourself
maybe i wasn't fully aware that there was such a thing as slavery,
its hard to put yourself in their shoes and imagine yourself in an english, jane austen era?
and the fact that the movie potryed something so historical, yet really important.
i could feel the injustice as i watched the movie.

so maybe i compare, Singapore is so secure and protected.
theres not blatant "slavery"
im channeling my compassionate side. yet, who needs the pity?

so its actually this guy a few centuries ago who made that difference. he went into law. and by went into law, he took on the full responsibilty (with a few aids) and it took him so many years to abolish the slave act.
his actions and words are really honourable and admirable.
i can't remember the details. like the year and the names.
i watched it a month ago, i think.
but all i know is that im kinda interested in law. making a difference.
using your voice and giving a voice to those who cant speak.

its more along the lines of making something so importance. it has turned into something u idolize, or cant live without.
bondages.
yup, this is some deep stuff, rather controversial topics im broaching,
so its just a movie, haha, based on a true story. and im just a girl suggesting that u should watch it.

library

borrowed 8 books just the other day.
i haven't even gotten into any, except 2 chapters of sarah dessen, lock and key.
its really nice. the theme and story line. just don't have the time to really get into it and finish it in one sitting.
sad.. i cant afford to read novels all day. i have to read text books instead.

season of new beginnings

i feel like i have changed.

just new pespectives in life.

some doses of healthy, healthy stress.

haha.

laughter and running

and brunch and talkiing

lots of words..ugh..i cant trust words

like relient k's song- bite my tongue

yups.

maybe growing a spine

and just being happy.

for the right reasons

humilty vs. pride

Nostalgia

so yesterday. which was wednesday. has been the busyiest and most packed ever. in the history of my home schooled life. firstly i was awake for more than 24 hours straight.

i got so much done. i figured out my future. i planned my sweet 16. i know my purpose in life.

deep huh?

oh i shall start by giving you my dear reader-

[who even bothered to type out this address, with all the hyphens and stuff, because? u know me. u have heard of me. most probably u are an acquaintance who i have accepted to belong to my meagre list of contacts on msn.] a little background peek.

the only publicity i get is through msn. oh wait. on face book. cool. going to do that later.
i used to go to PLMGSP. and i went back to sch the other day.
really weird. everything looked so small. thats probably cos im rather big now.
haha.
oh and before that i watched ink heart with my cousin. yup, thats u jolene!
i spent quite a sum of money that day. on food and the book store and tickets.
it was so fun. except that i was sort of crazy that day.

CNY.

Part2

the first few minutes of the morning on the very first day of the year 2009 was spent clearing up. right after trying to wake up navin with the iron spray thing. he was perched ontop of aunty letchmi's facial bed, you know the ones that are not that wide with hole in the head area to put you face in. anyway. sam sprayed him and he twitched and then went back to sleep. haha. one of the funniest things this year. managed to wake nita with just one spray, she fell alseep half way through the longest yard.

went jolynn's house, talked to eunice and her. it was kind of a gathering with two other families who are real close to my parents.
but i was dozing off when uncle hong lim cracked out his camera and proceded to show all the pictures of their trip to aussie.i wore my new skirt . its enormous. poofy.
and red.

i dont know what i did on the second day.
i have started my tuition classes. for english and math. and i have a plan. to read all my content subjects by february. thats social studies, biology and geography. yes thats my goal. rostina said to me yesterday how i only have half a year and a few months. when u think of it that way, and not having 9 months. then its a teensy weensy bit daunting. i shall be busy studying most of the time.

Recalling part1

the new year.
18 days have passed..
i seriously cant remember much from my first week of the year.
i feel like i have so much to write and dont exactly know where to begin..

okay, i shall start from the past, like last year.
the 24th. such a long time ago.
my extended family has a long standing tradition of meeting on christmas eve. its the usual pigging out on ham and chicken and sausages, its kind of gross thinking about it. i don't even think i was hungry. but i wolfed down my food none the less,in front of the tv.no sit downs. its almost always tv dinners there. with 15 something people all watching. as i said its tradition.
so then we sing some carols and watch more tv. but this year was slightly different. my dad aked my sis to lead a game of dont forget the lyrics, boy was that a horror. i shall not expend on it.
we also watched this video of this ladies testimony. and then we sang carols, however my 6 aunts were kind of preoccupied with my cousins one year old son; keagan. he's a sweetheart. yeah, and at 12 am we went around handshaking peoples hands singing the tune of we wish you a merry christmas all around the hall. then it was present time. man! just recalling this is kind of tiring. i dont know why. ahh.. now on to something interesting. 2 hours later i was packing. 1 hour later i went on my laptop. and 4 hours later i was in the car on the causeway. its probably the first time in a long time that my family was not in singapore on the 25th of december.
3 full days of malaysia. it was fun, my dads side came along. a half a family affair in exotic johor, yeah right.
all we did was eat, sleep and shop and watch movies and tv.
i caught up on 2 episodes of mythbusters.

i bought kung fu panda on dvd. its was 60 rengit. can you believe it? divided by half. thats $30. i told myself its a dvd, plus its kind of an investment, i can watch a panda find himself a thousand times, plus, all the other people who would be able to watch it too. if they wanted to borrow it or something.
and just other day i was at giant. i repeat, giant. that big supermarket in tampines. the very place that sold fish and pickled vegetables that stink, was selling kung fun panda on dvd for $9.90!
i felt kinda annoyed as i stared at the price of sticker, that blue and white circle screaming out to me Singapore dollars 9.90. i even picked it up and turned to see its side spine of the tape. there was DVD in those slanted fonts they so choose to print them as.
ugh. i paid 30 dollars and it was now selling for less than 1/3 the price. i feel cheated.
ok. i think i have ranted about this topic for its worth, freaking 30 dollars.

uh huh. so came back on the 28th. and on the 31st i went to my aunts house to celebrate the new year. how did i celebrate? i watched 4 movies on a projector with my cousins and two other guys related to my uncle.
grid iron gang, which if you ask me is such a cliche. one of the thousands sports-inspirational-prison movie. so tiresome. then coach carter, my thrid time. then catch me if you can which was really cool. and then the longest yard. i guess all that sports flicks have encourged me on my treadmill expeditions. its like an expedition for me to travel (by car) all the way to yishun. and get on the treadmill to jog.
then comes the first day of the year 2009!
where does time go?
